I am looking for a recording of a disclaimer for a product at the end of a TV or radio commercial. It's hard to explain, but it is when they speed up the narrators voice really fast and say things like, "Not available in all locations" or "for a limited time" or "results may vary".

Please post if you can come up with this recording in 2 days or less. Thanks! Also post if you can come up with a better way to explain this type of recording I am looking for to help others figure out my request.

Thanks a bunch! I've used thefreesoundproject for a school project once, and I am using it again. This will be very much appreciated!

... post if you can come up with a better way to explain this type of recording I am looking for to help others figure out my request.

Comedy spoof / satire / parody of terms conditions / disclaimer ...

e.g this Youtube clip @ 1.11 ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOnDYbjigWA

e.g this Youtube clip @ 1.30 ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeVDyodYlaA

If you're doing one gotta have "batteries not included" and "may cause death".

The end of that second Youtube clip is what I am looking for, but without the products name. Just a generic disclaimer.

No one can find this? Believe me I've been looking, but I don't have the ability to record something from a radio commercial, only from things on the internet which makes it a lot harder.

Here is a version (I used a computer voice with an American accent) ... http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=77608

The voice is obviously a computer, but better than mine, (and better than nothing).

Atec103 you only have a chance of getting exactly what you require if you post a script. Some of the voice talent here may record it (at normal speed) and post their recording, then I will speed up their recording like the example I posted above. This is going to take more than two days: Freesound moderation means posts take 1-2 days to appear after they have been posted.

Here is a script for anyone who wants to record something. I am looking for a real-voice and have it sped up like some of the Youtube examples. By the way Timbre, that one is good but only if it were sped up and in a real voice.

"Call 1-800-577-8038
That's 1-800-577-8038
Limited Time Offer
Not Available in Stores
And is made in Britain
Beware of Imitators
May cause heart attack, stroke, and death
Use with caution
Call 1-800-577-8038
That's 1-800-577-8038"

The speed I'm looking for can be found in the tibit below.

I did speed it up: the takes get progressively faster, almost incomprehensible towards the end (about a minute in).

I will give any posted samples of your script this same progressively faster treatment, but will take it up to incomprehensibly fast.

Can you use the script I posted? And is there a way to make it so that it's not computer sounding?

OK, this is a first for me grin

I just recorded myself speaking your script in a natural voice as well as an exaggerated radio-type voice. I uploaded the originals and then I sped them up by 30 and 40 percent. So there will be 6 total files.

Once they are available and pass moderation I will let you know right here.

Here is a script....
Call 1-800-577-8038

That's the real "Shamwow" number, you'd be better off using a fictional number.

Altec103

Can you use the script I posted ?

Like Sean Connery I can only do Scottish accents , Freesounders "Shawshank73" or "Jppi_Stu" would do a much better job.

555-0100 through 555-0199 are now specifically reserved for fictional use

Whoops. Altec, I'll have to re-record with the fictional number that you want.

I like using the real number. Plus nobody is going to call it, not where I am posting it. And the real number rolls off the tongue better then any fictional number.

But if you must then use 1-800-577-8034

Once it is posted you cannot control where it is shown.

For comedy effect you could make it an impossibly long telephone number, e.g. 20 digits, in groups of 3 or 4.

It would be funnier and avoid you being sued by the Shamwow corporation.

[Note in this Shamwow parody the last 4 digits of the telephone number have been deleted ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2X7VB-wkz8&NR ]

Putting “may cause death” at the end is funnier, as if someone has died using the product after the advert has been made and this warning has been added on to the original voice over, perhaps even using a different announcer voice, or with the same announcer but different equalisation so obviously added later.

no you can add maybe a number if you want, or you can put that annoying FCC click in each number so it adds to the effect your going for? You know they want the pills to eventually kill you, but don't want to really tell you their phone number. Like it's used for Educational Purposes! : ) Hm it's a thought/

.Killer.

By FCC do you meant DTMF ?

What about those phoneword things, with letters related to the product ... e.g. "1-800-FATAL-PRODUCT".

I say we just use the script I posted, it easier for the reader and the less things the less complicated and less things to go wrong.

I've submitted a variation of Paul's performance where I have mangled the phone number by repeating parts of it ,
i.e. "1-800-577-8038-0838, 1-800-577-8038-0838" ... "1-800-577-577-0838, 1-800-577-577-0838" (deliberately inconsistent),
Long inconsistent numbers are funnier than repeating the same real number and will avoid a law suit from Shamwow Inc.

As promised it gets progressively faster over 8 takes (#8 incomprehensibly fast).

As usual it will take 1-2 days to appear.
