Good Job! I think the different variations help. How'd you get your sound up so quickly?

It are all guesses of me ,listening to the sound and tell you what I think I hear.
This morning they gave a hint:

In dutch

Maak je niet te druk, het geluid is maar een spelletje
translation could be (it is an expression as wel)
Do not make a fuss about it to much, it is only a game
THe word "druk' can also be pression, pressure, busy, active, print.

SO thank you for your guesses, they were already given or do not sound good enough, keep on the good work

Actually, not "it is only a game", rather "the sound is only a game", so it could be a Rubik's Cube or something.

Nemo you are rigth about the translation, sorry that I forgot the word sound indeed the sentence should be
the sound is only a game.

Unfortunately Rubricks Cube is one of the already given answers. My daughter thought it was a dice roller , it's a part of a game that is called man do not irritate yourself and there is a small dome with a metal plate and when you click it, the dice will jump up and give a new side to see and cannot role away. But that sound is way to simple compared to the recording. But that answer was given to some hours ago so still no answer

There was an earlier hint given,

Het geluid heb je zelf in de hand

It can mean literally

You control the sound, but can also be explained

To have the sound in your hand yourself

so then you manupilate it

Vague but maybe it will help

For something you find you are also offered/rewarded 10% of the amount found, it is a normal reward. If it were not for me you were not aware this contest ever existed, so instead of being thankfull...

And untill now, only answers were given that are already given, so no real solution. And then I still have to wait IF I ever will be called and untill now, I have no answer so..no reward whats or ever.

I hope you will stay supporting me,

Panograaf

my opinions:

hand powered: not electric or pneumatic, hydraulic.
There's a cutting-type blade in there at 0.63 and again at 1.44

the first two sets of clicks don't resonant because (opinion!) the machine is in it's compressed/tight state as it returns the spring or tension bar is what you hear vibrating, not the wood table.

close mic'd with a minidisc w/ atrac3

Well hunted Timbre!...so have you tried contacting them with your best shot and cutting us out?hehe.

Without Panograaf we wouldn't know.
Without freesound we wouldn't know OR be able to work together.

I suggest 10 percent for the individual who finds this and 90 percent to freesound.....deal?

A cigar cutter?
If it's contact miked,a ball-point pen.

I goota go work.

And they said "the sound is only a game". The dice roller is a nice guess, but it's not long enough for that. And maybe would be more clicky. It could maybe be a dice cup used in yahtzee or something.

Do not pressure, the sound is just a game
The sound you have in your hand

It sounds like a clocking-in machine. Maybe the allusion to the 'sound' you have in your hand means a note, possibly implying paper or card. The 'game' is identifying the sound so possibly can be ruled out. The do not pressure part - God knows!

Nice work everyone.

Cheers.

The "do not pressure" part actually would translate better as "stay calm". The double meaning of "pressure" is in it though, so that could be an extra hint. Although it could also be translated as "busy" (as in 'it is a busy week': 'het is een drukke week') or "press" (as in 'press the button': 'druk op de knop' but also in a 'printing press': 'drukpers').

Maybe it's the sound of a chess clock which was hit twice (ont time by each player). it fits the hints thay gave (it's in your hand, do not pressure, only a game). This is more analysed from the hints, cause i don't for shure what a chess clock sounds like, but who knows.

And for those who didn't knew yet. The game is held by a Dutch radio station. Price money went up to €53.600 euro's already. http://www.qmusic.nl/page/hetgeluid for more info (for those who reads dutch).
