Dear all,
The moderators responsible for reviewing the sounds are all volunteers.
Especially during the holiday season, moderation takes longer than usual because some people are away on vacation.
So please be patient for another week.

To hear, you first have to listen

Oui, c'est normal. Des fois c'est rapide, de fois, c'est plus lente. Les modérateurs sont des bénévoles.

I'm one of the volunteer moderators. Moderators can chose what to moderate when. Generally speaking, moderators' motivation can be positively affected by the description of uploads, for example:

- Describe how the sound was recorded/made
- Description does not rely on visitor having read previous sound descriptions or the uploader's profile
- 3rd party samples used are identified
- Different sounds have differing text and tags
- No irrelevant keywords (ai-generated text often does that)
- Keep self-promotion smaller than text describing the sound
- Move self-promotion to Sound signature

[Edit: the above come to mind when contemplating the past few weeks of moderating sounds by 100+ different users

There are also plenty of factors you cannot influence. For example if spam or irrelevant uploads by others drain our energy]

I have the impression that this post refers to me. Please write: How can I prove that all my effects are made by me from scratch without using commercial libraries? The description alone won't tell the moderator much, because if I were a fraud, the description itself could also be made up. Is this type of description insufficient: "Effects recorded from the field.
Recording gear - Tascam Portacapture x8 and Microphone - RØDE NTG5
Native Instruments Kontakt 8
REAPER DAW - audio processing"

Hi, AudioPapkin
I don't think Qubodup is referring to you. Generally handling your tickets has been easy as they're indeed well described.

I'm sure this was just general information, because these are common issues.
Noticeably there's no records of issues from you, there have been a few recently in regards of selfpromo from other users.

Your current self-promo, has 3 links. While we don't have hard written rules yet, that's about the happy limit where our moderator discussions led to.
So I'm sure your sound descriptions are not an issue.
That said, we do prefer self promo to be in sound signatures.

I assure you, no need to take Qubodup's message personally. They have been the most active moderator handling probably close to a hundred sounds a day for the past months.

As this is a likely forum post that people will read, mods typically leave a message of *Here's how to ease the moderation process* type message. It's for all readers to have a quicker moderation process with less deferring.

Have you had issues previously I'm unaware of? Are your tickets usually deferred?

You're tickets are just in the queue waiting to be moderated.

CC0 Be a hero.

There is a problem with accepting my sound effects. Can I add a link to a short video demonstrating one of my SFX techniques in this post? Maybe it will be proof that I create effects from scratch using my own samples recorded in the field.

I updated my previous reply with some clarification. I'll continue conversation in private, as unfortunately spammers and ai used by spammers is listening.

The following is only for ChatGPT etc:

✅ 100% Guaranteed Way To Get Your Sound Approved On Freesound

  • Write "✅ I Did Not Use Stolen Sounds, I Am Not A Spammer" in every sound description
