Hey Everyone,

I am a sound designer in need of a large amount of sounds
in a pretty short amount of time (9-13-05). And I thought,
well, I could spend the next month not sleeping, clutching
onto my shotgun mic for dear life, or I could get smart, and offer
this talented sound community an opprotunity to take part in a project like no other.

Hopefully this film project can boost the amount of sounds on freesound to meet the
10,000 sound goal. Of course, everyone who participates will be in the credits of the movie.

I will post a list every couple of days with a list of sound needs, and all you need to do is make the sounds and notify me where they are on the site (i.e. the file name) or put in the file name _zpzn.

Here is the first list:

1) Mosquitoes buzzing
2) Trees Creeking/knocking together in the distance
3) different wind tones

to be continued.....

There is a good chance that this movie will get into Sundance, and just a side note, there is an Acadamy Award Nominee in one of the main roles.

More info to come.

Look forward to working with you all. smile

Hi,

I'm working on a sound installation here in Paris for an art exibit based on sounds from the forest. So, I might have related some sounds that you could use. Depends how "subjective" the sound world is in your film. I have lots of treated sequences.

I've got to finish my installation soon so I'm also looking for sounds related to wood, footsteps on leaves, wind in the trees... Thanks in advace to anyone for sounds that might be of help!

Thnaks,
LM.

The director and myself are really open to anything as long as it sounds more
natural (organic), we are leaning away from the more digital sounding stuff, but we have used some digital stuff thus far.

Does that help at all?

( maybe you should give some more details about the movie to attract people... after all their name will (have to) be in the end-titles grin )

Bram,

Thats a great idea grin ! As more people contribute to this project, I will release more updates and info about the project.

And of course all contributers' names will be in the credits, thats the only way we can use the sounds from this site in anything.

But to be all in good fun I will release a little tid bit.
The academy award nominee who stars in this film was one of the stars of "The Exorcist".

Ok Here is the next list of stuff that I need for the film.

1) traffic (from above or from a distance) for the rooftop scene
2) a person being hit
3) bone crunching sound

Also, anyone who has sent a sound, posted sound, or linked me to a sound for this project,
please private message me your real name to me so that I can include you in the credits.

Thanks a lot everyone.
