Hi, I'm a newbie and I need a short dramatic/horror bit of music for my multimedia movie. The intro is just words running down the screen as the dramatic music builds up and then the title slams on, so something that goes kind of WHAM. WHAM. At the end. Or in the middle. Or something, or just two separate things, a bit of music and a soudn effect - I can mix them around.

My original idea was the jaws theme, but our school is being anal about copyright and we can't enter them in the competition if we're using music from a film or something.

Er, okay, anyone else out there? I can do my own timing, I just need a few snippets in the style of O Fortuna, the Jaws theme or the 007 theme - anything that sounds all dramatic or horror movie. Please? If you haven't got something on the site, I'll be eternally grateful if you just direct me toward a copyright safe bit of dramatic music.

Just a thought, but a good place to look for public domain or usage-friendly music bits is archive.org

http://www.archive.org/advancedsearch.php

in case you haven't looked there already.
Searching on something like "choral" might turn up something suitably ominous.
Good luck.

Sorry, Anton, I sent you an email asking if you had director and you didn't reply, and I'm not sure how to convert the file anyway...

Thsnkd, yawfle, I'll try that site.
