I've been asked to provide the sounds for a freeware pinball game with a western/cowboy theme and i want each game to start with someone saying in a kind of deep/growly voice...

"Saddle-up shitkickers.....it's time to ride"

.....it would be a great help if someone could try this smile

Thanks!

I'd already come up with a different take using a couple of Klankbeelds' original versions but sounds like you done a good job here.

Klankbeeld, you have one great voice for this request!.....i'll post a link when the game's finished. Thanks again.

I'm from Kentucky so the whole country twang voice thing is pretty natural for me. I'll work something up and that will give you something to work with. Do you want more said than just, "Saddle-up shitkickers.....it's time to ride"? Like, maybe a different line for each level or something to make it interesting (I have no clue if pinball has levels though...); maybe a different random line at the start of each game? Just a suggestion smile

Andoru Wari ,that's a good voice you got goin' there....the game is too fast to add voiceovers during play and,for us at least, Klankbeeld has nailed the "Saddle-up......." (although others might be interested if you upload your take).....but your post got us thinking about different intro's/outro's for repeated plays,a definite possibility.....so if you would care to give these a try?...

......you boys ain't from around here are you...(spoken as a statement not a question)

.......where are you boys tryin' to head to?....

.......now you boys best keep ridin'..you hear?

And if you have any other ideas for "cowboy" one-liners then please just upload them aswell,i'm sure there's an interest here

Is plagiarism acceptable for the outro ? ...

"This town ain't big enough fer the two of us" (+gunshot)

"Fill your hand [with a gun], you miserable son of a bitch." (+gunshot)

Add a liberal sprinkling of “vamoose” “skedaddle” and “varmint”s

and maybe comedy spitoon ... http://www.freesound.org/packsViewSingle.php?id=5978

Ok cool, personally I thought the sound was alright but I guess it's up to the OP to be the judge. wink I didn't apply de-esser because I have yet to find a good plugin for that. :/
Btw, out of curiosity, how come you did a loop of the last take?

quite ( I have been known to overdo the de-essing, it depends on the speakers-headphones being used)

They are supposedly (subtle) variations: e.g. different degrees of de-ess.
It's difficult to tell the versions are different via the Freesound on-line preview, (Freesounds sound different when downloaded).

I'd be uploading this stuff onto freesound but when I do, they never show up. Only 1 file has worked so far.

Thanks a bunch Andoru..can definately use a few of these.

I hope we can get a version up soon,it's just a small game but a lot of work anyway and it wouldn't be half as much without freesound cool
