Hoy people!

It seems as there is not one particular thread to post SFX request in, so I am making a new one. I am brand new to this forum as of today, so if people are fed up with SFX request, please just let this thread die in silence smile

I have been looking for a buzzing fly sound effect for my new short film, and it seems impossible to find. Googling gave me a fly SFX pulled from a game, but I could not use that due to copyright restrictions (and it was a poor SFX anywho).

I am now hoping this forum could be the solution. Perhaps some of you have som tips? Maybe even have such a SFX to upload?

As a last resort I was planning on simply purchasing one from an Internet SFX Library. Perhaps the best solution?

All comments are appreciated grin

actually I had a vocoder (orange vocoder 1.0 from prosoniq) that could simulate a fly pretty convincingly...if you're still interested I can try to record it, but it may take a while since I currently dont have access to my PC

Not actually a fly sound but this might work:
granny demonic.wav
In my "granny files" sample pack. You might have to EQ out some low end but it's original and free...

The Yamaha MOTIF series of keyboards has a very convincing "fly swarm" sound

But don't they cost $1,199.99 ? I would never pay for anything, but that's just me. I regret paying for the keyboard I bought before I realized with softsynth freeware, mellosoftron, etc you can make great stuff for little or no money. Keep looking for the sound.. maybe I can try to create something for you this weekend if I don't piss off my girlfriend by being on the computer for 12 hours sraight! Check back by the weekend. You need individual flies or swarm? I'll make something soon... good luck till then.
