I need a short clip of the sound an adult musk ox makes. It's surprisingly difficult to find, anywhere, and I suspect it normally does not make much noise. I've even looked at musk ox videos on Youtube, but so far... I'm not even sure what they sound like. A zoo recording would be fine, as long as the background noise isn't too loud or noticeable.
Well, while they are normally quiet creatures, at long last I found out what a Musk Ox sounds like:
MUSK OX: [Pulse of the Planet]

However, that is copyrighted stuff and I really doubt Pulse of the Planet would lend permission to edit and use part of it. Perhaps someone could take a lion or other big cat roar and edit it to sound like this?
PS: I also managed to find a "Baby musk ox" sound on Youtube. (It sounds a bit like a kid goat or cattle calf, but very weak and pathetic sounding.) So I've already got the baby musk ox sound covered.

You could ask them. At the top of the page you linked isTimbre

Hmm... That's still not close enough. However, it might work if one of the latter takes is sped up significantly without changing the pitch. I'll have to play around with it.Originally, I was going to use part of this BullBellow.mp3:

Still, I doubt I can come up with an approximation close enough to satisfy me...
