Since leaving school i dabbled in music since i had a computer and electronic background. In that time i have built a few home studios, wired a few professional studios and composed/produced all kinds of music with my main professional career co-writing with the late DJ Tony DeVit for over 6 years!

My main music passion is within the Dance Music industry - Trance/Harhouse/House etc... but i DO dabble with other genres with a future goal of making it into producing/composing for Adverts/Film and computer games.

I still own a home studio, one is built around harware Mixers/Synths and PC the other is a Software based editing suite using plugin synths and effects. Both are based around Cubase VST.....and now Cubase SX3.

I have also owned a Mac Based Protools TDM system based around a core/888 interface.

My first PC sequencer was an Atari 1040ST, then moved onto a Power Mac and finally ending up with ALL PC (XP Pro).

I have used: Creator/Notator/Logic/Cubase together now with Wavelab/Soundforge/Acid Pro 6/Reason and just getting to know Abelton!

Im not a DJ myself but do like the new DJ software - Traktor etc..

I still produce dance tracks but taken time out to learn SX3 with many past tracks still on the shelf (finished but with no home!).

I hope to find a new Tony DeVit one day and get back into the scene!

If i can offer any help in the mean time then i will try my best!

smile

hey, thanks for offering your advice. I'm an extreme newby and bought a MD MZ-R50 off ebay for recording the sounds of my neighborhood, my kids at play, sounds of my work space, and the like. However I want to do this on the cheap. Do you have any advice?

Much thanks,
Matthew
