ha, yes i know, old (well not really) and reasily breakable - but a classic. i am well aware that several FS mebers use MD's for field recordings, so they may have an answer to my questions. A long time ago i bought a minidisc player and a basketful of minidiscs and put my cd's onto Md (so i could lsten) but alas, the inevitable happened and my MD player broke and the warrenty had run out, enter Mp3. but i was left with loads of MD's and a stereo that can record onto MD. So, the question i place to the FS members is:

is there a way of getting minidisc to computer?

I know several of the 'recent' MD players have a usb connection so its done that way, but alas i don't. the only way i do it is by slapping a cable into the Phones port of the stere and line in on the comp and recording...see my problem? bah

a "not really" old way but still very useful, well I have only that for the moment.
The cheapest and best way I have found is to buy a "not really" old used MD player (HiFi) with a digital out and plug it into my soundcard. I've found one for 40 euros on ebay. Of course this suppose that you already have a soundcard with a digital in. Well I own only an edirol ua25 and it works perfectly !

Hate to tell you this, but the new Hi-Md generation of recorders allow you to transfer files to your pc, but ONLY HI-MD files recorded through the analog input. No older md's that you've recorded with previous generation devices will upload on a new HiMd. Unfortunantly, the only way to transfer your music is the way Cyril mention above
