Hello, I'm Kaoru.
I've been playing around with samples and such for a while now, but I'm still unable to build a drum set that sounds "natural", specialy when it comes to hat's and cymbals.
So, if you could point me out a few samples and maybe some tips, it would really help alot,

Thankx.

Join the club. Mind you, if you can actually hear a high-hat, you have a head start on me.

Kaoru,

have you tried looking at BFD?
it's about the most amazing drum set out there:

Not only that but they released a lot of add-on packs for it with other sounds.

I uploaded a pack of my cymbals a few weeks ago. 4 crashes, 1 ride, 2 chinas, 2 splashes, and a high hat, all
played with various dynamics. Take what you'd like....

I can emphasize the great value of BFD

I never heard such a "real" drum set on a computer before.

Well maybe with NI Battery and the right samples you can build
a nice Kit too, but still you need to programm the midis very subtle.

BFD does a good job through its internal structure.

for programming drums use different velocitys, just try to imagine a real drummer, this guy has some good drums samples for free ; http://www.naturalstudio.co.uk/

I've been using Reason with Reason Drumkits (v.II).
It's *very* realistic, has lots of kits which you can mix and match to creggate your own kits, has lots of microphone options (i.e., close, ambient, overhead, etc), doesn't cost much (once you have Reason) and can be seriously messed about with via Reasons FX. Lovely job.
