This is the PMD671, a 24bit/96kHz 2Ch portable audio recorder that supports MP3 and WAV (PCM) and puts the recorded files onto CF or MicroDrive. This device is aimed at the professionals and has a USB port, and a digital and analog out. Power comes from an internal battery pack or a AA battery pack. The device measures 244x185x57 and weighs 1.3kg. It will cost you more than 1000 EUR though.

still waiting

they are a bit out of my league ... i'm a shit-fi artist ... my current plan is to build a 9v XLR -> 1/8" mic preamp for use with an sm57 and my monolith premium recorder

i'll do some tests with the rack mount berhinger compressor i've got 1st
