Hi all - I've been using a Sony PCM-D50 recorder for all my field recordings. It is a brilliant device. Unfortunately, one of the two microphones has started to act up. It will randomly lower the recording level while recording. The position of the microphone doesn't seem to impact this behavior. Sometimes, it doesn't do this, and I would have perfect levels left and right. But more often than not, the level of the left mic goes down.

Any recommendations? Sony doesn't seem to have a reasonable alternative available, and I haven't found a way to replace the single mic (they don't seem to have been sold as spare parts). Should I be looking for a different brand of recorder? Or buy a separate set of mics to be used with this Sony?

Thanks!

Echt? Een DAT recorder? Qua gewicht en gemak (en prijs) is een handheld digitale recorder wel een stuk beter, volgens mij.
