Hi there! I´m making a new song. The song is about war and freedom. I wanted to incorporate news reports in the songs, such as, for example journalists saying "2000 people died in bla, bla". Does anyone know where I can find that? And what about the copyright in that case? Thanks!

Your safest bet would be to have someone record a "ficticious" news broadcasts. In other words: Fake. So you can't have any trouble legally. As far as I know, the broadcasts are property of TV or radio networks and they are the copyright holders.

You should try a fantastic resource at https://archive.org/index.php

Its a massive internet archive of public domain media, which includes some television broadcasting. This is completely free because comparatively the material would fall under a Creative Commons Zero license which is unrestricted.

Sorry I can't point you to any specific items, but it's a good place to start.

Hope you find what you're looking for. smile

p.s. as Vlatko said, If you can find someone to voice-act the exact dialogue you need and process it to sound like a legitimate live broadcast, then that might be better for you because you know you won't be on a wild goose chase for that one perfect line of dialogue you're looking for which may never be found, or takes years to come across; a needle in a haystack.

If you post a request in: Sample Requests i'm sure someone should be willing to help out. It's plan B i suppose because the likelihood of you finding exactly what you are looking for without any copyright license attached is very miniscule.

I am the thing that goes bump in the night...
