Hi I hear that it possible to make a CD with a ambient sound such as waves on a shore with subliminal messaging behind it at a frequency that cant be heard by the human ear but can be by the subconscious. As a hypnotherapist this would be invaluable to me. Any suggestions?

Subliminal messages can be made with creating some patterns in the noise, they can create the sense of fear and other feelings. But I am not sure how efficient they are for advertising a washing powder for example.

I was hoping to use it for confidence building, I would be talking a pre-rehearsed script and the subjects subconscious would hear it but the human ear would only hear the waves / woods/ white noise etc

all I can say is they use subliminals to get people to join the Navy...in an episode of The Simpsons

in cool edit pro there are brain-wave functions...
you can change the left-right panning very subtly to affect alpha/beta/gamma waves of the brain.

I personally doubt the use of them, but I'm sure that if you believe in them they do work.

Subliminal tape recordings use to be popular a couple decades ago... All they do is track the message they want to send at super low volume just barely audible and then blast some ambience or calssical music. I duplicated this on a tape of someone and tried to get them to go crazy and drive to California but it did not work.

Also you can still find free version's of Cool Edit 96 out there and you can unlock all the features if you can google well. It has the brainwave generation feature but it based more on biofeedback techniques than on suggestion from outside sources. It's cool for meditating and going to sleep, but that's all...

Thats cool thanks - I was told the vocoder option in adobe audition could be used, I'll check up on other links 1st though. From what I have studied of subliminal mesaging it does work but needs to be listened to regularly over a period of time to take effect.

http://www.transparentcorp.com/. Their software is not free, but its cheap and there is a 30 day trial for you to download. I did some experiments with it recently, and it does work!

I use it an like it very much. It's Open Source but they have it for almost every OS I run Linux but the also have Windows and Expensive repackaged Linux (mac)

Trouble is that if something can't be heard by the human ear then t can't be heard by the subconscious. Subliminal messages have to be heard clearly but not understood conciously. So why not use the normal hypnotic practise of selective emphasis of words in an otherwise innocuous speech? Plus some nice music as well.
