Anybody know a good freeware sound recording app for recording from other applications on Mac OSX? (I'm not talking about ReWire-type apps, I'm an experienced ProTools user.) I'm talking about an application to record sound from virtually any other software, whether it's the speaking feature of a text program or a WMV file.

Im not an OSX user so i dont know if this is possible but on windows its usually as simple as settting the wave output as the record source. Then you can record anything that is being output.

Maybe OSX has the same feature?

Just as an after-thought, JACK has been ported to OSX from Linux and there's an easy installer for it. Not tested it proprly yet, but if it's as good as it is on Linux....
