Hello, I was just wondering what mics were considered good for indoor recording. I'm looking to get a little more high end then the crap radio shack mic I have. Maybe between $50 to $80 range. Does anyone also have a good solution for avoiding digital noise from the computer like from the fan? Its not the worst in the world but it kind of "stains" all my recordings through microphones.

I never record in a room where a computer is on!

For recording indoors I nowadays use my Sony ECM-MS907 (about $100) to Sony MZ-N10 minidisc (as pre-amp, about $90 from eBay) to iRiver H120 WAV recorder (cost me about $170. Then I can drag-and-drop the WAV files to the PC for editing.

The shure sm57 is a classic, and in your price range.

lol

That will probably help me too, even if the solution is a bit more expensive than I'd like.

Thanks to both posts.
