hi,

I am not into field recording, though I might get into it soon! right now, I want to know how best to record whistling sound. suggest me any nice and ( if possible cheap ) gadgets that I would need.

whisteling isn't easy to capture well. Maybe try with your laptop and a cheapo mike. INstall Audacity and roll... THe thing is that you need to not whistle directly into the microphone because that will create windblow noises, the trick is to aim just next to the mike, but not too far away so that you get a clean track.
