For a good source of free audio there is pixabay.
No attribution required and as I said free.
Does anyone here have anything on this site?

I did not contribute, they just took my sounds here from freesound and rehostet it. This counts for the public domain sounds

Yeah I know a lot of artists that see their stolen work on Pixabay. I don't allow my sounds to be hosted there because for me, it's about the community, not some sketchy site that lets their users exploit our work without credit, gratitude, or consequence.

I tried to upload some of my sounds but didn't meet the quality requirements or something. I post amateur erotic sounds so that could be why.

In the discord, a user reported seeing some re-uploads from Freesound on Pixabay
There's an account called "freesound_community" from October 24, 2024 dedicated to re-uploads.

I think they just re-upload CC0 sounds so should be ok.
I searched popular CC-BY sounds and a popular user here who mostly uploads in CC-BY. I didn't find any so seems all good.
With a quick search, I didn't find any other accounts re-uploading. I didn't search very deep at all.

Pixbay is really not a careful sound moderating web!
Their moderator even don't ask which sample you used! I was used some sounds that from unrestributable sample packs to make sound fx and uploaded them to this web. And I even used hacked flstudio to make some sound fxs and uploaded them to this web before 2023. ( I have bought flstudio in 2025 and some plugin in kiloheart's web now.)

My first time notice the importance of copyright is when I uploaded sounds to Freesound, moderator qubodup asked and banded all my sounds that produced with unknown source sounds. Freeaound really taught me so lot! And helped me so lot!
I can tell you Freesound is the best sound gathering place in the world! Freesound is not only has sound effects but also many sounds that can provide research value for all of humans!

I don't mean that Pixbay's users are all untrustworthy, there also has sound producers full with passion too. But I just think that Pixbay's moderating is really not strict enough.
