Hi folks, I don't know where else to ask for this, feel free to move if it doesn't belong here.

Here's the thing. I am just starting with HAM listening, mainly SSTV receptions, but I figured I would ask more in general. Is it okay to record HAM receptions and post it here for anyone to listen? If not at all, then sorry to bother. I know that it's technically against the creed of HAM operators which is whatever is on air between HAMs, stays between HAMs, but some may be okay with it, so I guess if some guys would be okay with it, I think that this may be interesting to find here.

Just an idea, nothing to worry about.

Hi there,
forgive the necro reply, but what you might do is record yourself from a web-sdr from a distant location. Kind of like the reverse beacon network.

Hello, I have a HAM Lisc. myself. I think it would be OK but you have to be careful in how you do it. I would set the copyright lisc. to NON commercial. Also I would edit out their call signs as well. I know they may seem archaic but you can type in someone Ham sign ABC123 for example, you can get their address. They would not be pleased with that. I know they repeat their callsign throughout the transmission so it would take some work on your part.

If you're on friendly terms with other operators, you could maybe get them to act out a skit of what a typical session sounds like - only with made-up callsigns etc.

That way everyone has given consent to the recording, no personal data is accidentally shared, and you can pick juicy bits of dialogue to act out.

And yes, that kind of recording would probably be very useful for people making audioplays.
