I didn't want to be just a taker, so I recorded some sounds to donate to your collection. I tried numerous times to upload over 2 days, but it never worked. One day site was down most of the time. Next day the site worked, but uploads would never work.

No time to screw around, I just put them on the Internet Archive if you can use any of them.

Strange. It always worked fine for me?!
Did you accidentally skip the description process or perhaps the sounds have a pending moderation status?

I was on moderation as a new account. It uploaded the sound but would freeze to a blank screen when it came time to describe. And that was as far as I could get.

In the future you may want to give a notice that you have to wait to be approved. A pop came up that said I downloaded a lot and to donate. So I tried to donate.

That i strange and it is not how the moderation of uploads works. Something went wrong with your upload.
Have you tried a different browser?
Maybe your flash player or some other plugin needs updating?
