I'm wondering why you can buy a wireless microphone that can reprogrammed to a new base band range. We spend $1k plus for pro level mics and iems and they can't make them universal. I understand fcc regs say certain bands are blocked but why can't they make a unit that can tune to all possible channels. Now I know it's not practical to make a mic that can do both VHf and UHf but if you buy a UHf mic or whatever base band I think its not so unreasonable to be allowed to tune to any fcc allowed channel. Am I wrong or missing something here, it's just digital tuning circuit with some firmware to control it. I'd even be ok with having to swap receiver antenna as needed.
Just some food for thought, spark some debate.
