Clive Thompson writes at Wired Magazine an interesting article on the field-recordist Bernie Krause (http://www.wired.com/science/planetearth/magazine/16-06/st_thompson). Krause has long been saying that many natural sounds of our world are vanishing, a view many field-recordist (including me) now share.

For nature lovers in general and those not knowing it, Krause's project page (Wild Sanctuary, http://www.wildsanctuary.com/) is recommended. They have for example geotagged many sound samples around the world: http://tinyurl.com/67e7u4. Thought could interest some freesounders.
