Hi peeps,
I'm developing a commercial product for a smart pen and looking to use quite a few samples (well 100s actually). Freesound has quite a lot that I'd like to use and I am fine with attribution HOWEVER the device on which the product will eventually be deployed lacks sufficient space for attribution and I ALSO lack control of the deployment process to be able to flash up a credits page.

What I was thinking is that I would have a prominent attribution page on the product website and have an "about" message on the pen with a URL for people to go to for the product. Would this satisfy the CC attribution requirements?

I know its not ideal but I'm limited in my control and amount of information I can supply when someone purchases or uses the product so this I am looking at ways to work around this.

As an aside, I couldn't find any info on using the freesoundproject logo to link back to freesound, is this permissible? And also as an aside, while I say this is a commercial project its one I'll be lucky to break even on but I am keen to give back so would like to donate a percentage of any profits back to the freesoundproject. Is there a framework under which this may be done and advertised as being done?

Many thanks peeps,

Lee

It's not a very practical thing to do if you use so much sounds, but you can contact the sample creators and ask for permission to use a sound without attribution.
