Correct me if I'm wrong here... If I use a headset to record my voice into the Audacity software on my laptop, isn't there two separate channels the sound enters? ..and make up a fuzzy sound quality?

Is there a software installation to use here to make it better?

Probably need to turn off any "enhancements" applied to your microphone signal by your operating-system before it reaches Audacity, see ... https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#Why_do_my_recordings_fade_out_or_sound_as_if_they_were_made_in_a_tunnel.3F
