So I've been using two of sound clips on freesound for the past six years now and I just started monetizing few of my videos on youtube recently. However, this sound effect is used for my intro every time. Do I have the right to use this or am I violating anyone's rights?

Hi Qalbi,

before you even use a sound I would advise you to check under which license it was uploaded and also to know what applies to each of them (licenses). It can be the case you are violating the rights for a particular sound and that you simply don't know it. In any case, it wouldn't be that hard for you to check the license for the particular sounds you are using and check if you are doing something wrong.

Hope that helps.

Yes I've checked it and one is fine but the other one can be used as well but need to be credited to the owner. I changed all my monetized youtube description to link to the sounds that I used in my videos, I hope this is sufficient or do I have to actually put inside the video itself? That I'm not sure. Thanks for replying.

In that case I would send a message to the person who uploaded the sound and ask if it's okay to do the attribution in the description of the video and this person will tell. And you're welcome, I hope I could help smile
