I'm having a hard time downloading this sound: http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=52089

It keeps telling me I need to buy software to download the clip. I thought these sounds were free.

Be careful what you pray for; you'll probably get it.

I ("Timbre"wink just dowloaded it ... http://www.freesound.org/samplesDownloadedBy.php?id=52089 it's free.

Your browser may have tried to download Quicktime media player software, (nothing to do with Freesound), to play the Freesound. Quicktime has free and paid for "Pro" versions.

Freesounds are Free: follow the download instructions here ... http://www.freesound.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74

Grrrrrrrrr.... I HATE QUICK TIME!!!

I have it set to be default player for NOTHING but QT movies

yet it defaults automatically to QT when I dry to download a .wav file. Since I do NOT have QT Pro I CANT SAVE THE FILE !! that feature is only available in Pro.

I have VLC and want to set that as the default audio stream player...

So far.... all music files are set to open with VLC..... yet quick time still takes over.... (did I mention I HATE QUICK TIME, damn thing allways takes over my freaking computer)

any suggestions

. QT is set to ONLY be default player for QT movies.
. QT is NOT set to play any audio files.

. IE - left click causes it to open in QT. Right click deals with it like a web graphic
. *Mozella FFox- left click caused it to open in QT- Right click gave me the save option. Hit play caused it to open in QT
. Opera- have not tried yet

All these are latest version as is my XP

* In FFox have now changed all sound file's defaults to using no plugins. Each is set to VLC (default) .

What Kind of streaming files prefer QT? Can I default them to VLC and get rid of QT.... for YEARS it has allways screwed w/my computer, changing the defaults etc. Yet there were few things I could not view with out it. WAs like a woman.... cant for long live with out it.... cant live with it.
