tERMoBLUe,

seriously, we've had a long conversation about this before, ...

we deleted your pack because you uploaded a lot of different sounds, packed them all together and then described all of them in one go with the same tags and description. I've asked you to -please- upload your sample in smaller bunches and describe them a few at a time.

That way we can help you fix the descriptions, add tags etc etc... There are already people - like nicStage - helping a lot of people describe their files, but if you add this many files with a bad description it hurts freesound, and it hurts the coolness of your samples.

therefore you shouldn't certainly comment on it, because i have already heard the situation...is rather interested me, whether other users similar report or have to lament...cya

well i suspect bram wanted to say something so everyone didn't think he just deleted the samples for no reason. it is awesome that you want to contribute, but without accurate and unique descriptions, the sounds are actually more of a detriment to the freesound project, than a help. that's coming from another user, who isn't an "admin" or site developer . . .

i really ancourage you to contribute your samples, a few at a time, and give each one a unique description. for some sounds it is hard to think of a unique description, i know. especially if they are very similar to other sounds you are uploading. i think it is ok sometimes to have identical description parts, as long as you say what the sounds sounds like, how you recorded or created it, and provide good tags. if you look through my sounds you will see that i copy and pasted some description parts, and then added a few words noting the difference.

what it comes down to is that samples will get more attention and freesound will work better if sounds have healthy descriptions and accurate tags. when i went to recording school, many classes had an emphasis on archiving: whatr media to use, how to label it, where to store it, how to maintain it's quality, etc. freesound is like a public archive room, and it will work best if we apply those practices smile

that being said, freesound also makes the archiving process extremely easy. although it is more work than sending an email, it is way less work than trading cassette tape and CDs in the mail (which is still fun).

paid beautifully attention tongue ...i don't understand the difficulties, but if have a look so at some other description here at all sad ...because, i have made my samples in "a gateway " and have described these generally comprehensively - more details aren't possible at all...cu
