I keep getting a privacy error notice that the website uses HSTS and my computer iMac OS 1.11.6 won't let me get past it. This has been going on for days now. Doesn't matter what time of day. Any ideas????

Thanks for the report. Our IT department updated our certificates on November 18, and it seems like there may be some misconfiguration with the setup. We are working with them to try and resolve it.

Can you please confirm what web browser you are using (Safari? Chrome?) and the specific version of macos that you are using on your computer? (1.11.6 isn't a correct version, you can check your version using the Apple menu and then selecting "About this Mac")
If you are using a very old version of macos then unfortunately it's possible that it no longer supports the security settings that we're using, however we can verify that in more detail once you tell us more information

Thanks for getting back to me so fast.

My iMac is so el Capitan 10.11.6

I usually use Brave as a browser but have also tried safari without success

I do hope that your system will work with my old computer

Thank you

Tom

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately we're not going to be able to support El Capitan, as it's over 10 years old now.

By any chance did you encounter a similar issue a few years ago related to Lets Encrypt certificates? You may have solved it by following a process similar to this - downloading a root certificate and trusting it: https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/pzvw7k/solution_to_lets_encrypt_certificate_problem_on/

For freesound you should be able to do the same, I believe that you can download the certificate here: https://repo.harica.gr/rep_dyn.php
In the first dropdown menu item under "Root certificate authorities" select "HARICA Client RSA Root CA 2021" and then download the PEM file and import it according to the reddit link.

Again, sorry about this unexpected change, we dont maintain the network infrastructure for Freesound so are unable to continue to support old browsers. I hope this solution works for you.
