As I tend to see the Forum and participate more in it than the Blog.
Here's a forum repost of this https://blog.freesound.org/?p=2141 (even if it's accessible from the Freesound homepage)
On my part. Happy to see top 3 sound count uploader (Considering top 2 seem to post music loops, Id consider this top 1 Field recording sample uploads. Mainly thanks to my Ukulele and WD-40 sample pack
And proud to be top 5 time wise with 33h upload time.
With Philip_Goddard and klankbeeld having more or less doubled that upload time with IRL recordings! Impressive!
csengeri being right above me in 4 place.
I notice in the Tag cloud #Zoom-H5-as-Recorder, and #Rode-NT5, #Ukulele, #WD-40, #French and #France, I suspect to be a culprit there x')
A interesting number for next year, or if @frederic can shine-in in post with the data. Id be curious about geolocation uploads and usage.
What % of sound uploads are geo-tagged? If we search though #ambiance #field-recording and other IRL outdoor sounds queries. To filter out all the digital, music, loops, SFX type sounds. What % ends up geo-tagged?
How often is the map feature used to search sounds? Do people download equally as a regular search query sounds, or is it a curiosity thing people might listen but not download?
What are the countries with the most geotagged uploads?
How many users uploaded with geotag?
Perhaps another point of info, is the demographic of users, both in uploads and downloads. The geotag map semi represe.ts that already, but it would be interesting to know the spread if people knowing about and using freesound.
I also see, 1million sounds is expected for 2029-ish. Do you guys predict it to be spot-on, sonner or later?
Cheers everyone!
Another analytic id be interested in, is a list of the most common search query with the least sound results.
Like safe to say rain is very popular and has lots of results.
I suspect explosion to have way less results than rain despite being almost as popular.
What im looking for is a "what is the current biggest need with least availabilty list.
Cheers
