Hello,
I have been a fan of Freesound.org for a long time.
Good portal for all kind of sounds... Yes, it is♡
...but I still haven’t been able to clarify all my questions!

Am I allowed to upload full songs from my own productions?
What about slightly vulgar sounds, without insults or offensive language, of course – is that allowed?

Although I’ve read the guidelines and standards, I still feel like none of my sounds are getting approved, even if they seem useful.

What else do I need to consider?

Greetz.

Hey there. Let me clarify these things for you smile

Am I allowed to upload full songs from my own productions?

Nope, songs will be rejected. This is Free-sound not Free-Music after all. Loops are welcome though, 30 seconds ideally is the maximum but could be more depending on what it is. But if you just cut your song to 30 seconds for instance, it may be rejected too, so it has to be intended as a loop. Moderators are human, so it's hard to trick them.

What about slightly vulgar sounds, without insults or offensive language, of course – is that allowed?

Vulgarity and explicit content is fine. There's an option to tick in the description process that marks the sound as explicit.

What else do I need to consider?

It may be that there's doubt to the legitimacy of the sounds you're uploading. Note that a considerable amount of people attempt to upload stolen material so It is good practise to include as much information as possible about your creation in the description so when it's seen by a moderator they have all the info they need to approve the sound without questioning. Include how you created the sound in detail.

I hope this was helpful

Best,
S

Hello there,
Indeed including stuff like DAW used, a few details on FX applied or sound design process can help the moderation process.
Also if your sound inspires other users, it can help them reproduce a similar kind of sound.
Including Key or notes, and BPM for a loop will greatly help producers wishing to use loop samples. Increasing your downloads wink

Cheers!
