Mod queue is a little on the slow side these days (summer time business?). Don't worry your sounds are in queue waiting to be checked!

Can take a week or ten days before a mod decides to handle a bunch of tickets at once.
Can always check each sound's "moderation ticket" and see if you missed a mod note in the event it was deferred. If not it's probably just still in queue "waiting to be assigned to a moderator" which you'll be able to see in the same panel.

Cheers and thank you for your patience.

I have another file 24hrs now still not approved yet. Should not take more than 12hrs to approve our uploads this needs to change.

Hello DJboutit,

The issue of moderation time comes up every now and then here at the forums, and we can understand why people get frustrated.

The explanation is always the same, and will continue to be the same for the foreseeable future:

The Freesound Moderators team are unpaid volunteers, we are spread across different countries and we have jobs and other activities to attend to.

Sounds usually take longer than 24h to be moderated. The average changes over time, but 3-4 days is a good estimate.

Sometimes it takes longer. The moderation queue is sequential, so it does depend on how many sounds are already in the queue ahead of you.
It also depends on how many moderators are available. As we have different jobs and live in different countries, it is not possible to coordinate, and sometimes many of us are unavailable to moderate at the same time and the queue gets longer...

All sounds do get listened to by a human before being approved. In case of questions or any issues (e.g. insufficient description) the Mod will contact you.

I want to believe.

3 to 4 days is way to long it will keep some people away from upload their sounds 18 hrs would be just fine.

That may be, but it is a trade off to keep Freesound free, free of adds (in case you have not noticed) and true to its purpose. 🙂

I want to believe.

For me, it generally takes between 7 and 10 days for my sounds to pass.

YES sometimes it takes a while, but then it's on freesound. This is all thanks to these wonderful volunteers who, between all their other obligations, also help keep it free.

For the great job made by the Freesound mods and team, I think this is the minimum required !

Wishing you all the best !

Ahh I wonder why.. I thought it would only take 24-48 hours to process it.. but it turns out it can take 4-10 days because of what some moderators explained.. anyway thank you for your volunteerism

Hey everyone.

As you all hopefully know, all the mods here take their personal time to moderate hundreds of sounds per week usually, definitely more than 4000 a month.

For me personally, I haven't been moderating because of personal life issues and I sadly don't even have anytime to make sounds of my own.

So please bare the thought that we all want you to have your sounds heard, shared and expressed on Freesound.org, in return, we all here hope that you can spare some patience as we take our voluntary time to moderate them all.

Thanks again everyone!

If you think it's unacceptable. Would you like to volunteer to help moderate?

Could use the extra ears. You've been around long enough now I'd say smile
