Hi

I havea bunch of sax samples that i'd like to share - but I can't seem to connect to the ftp site - I'm using coffecup free ftp. I get to the server then a box comes up and says that my username and password are incorrect, but they are the same as I use to log in.

I am set to port 21 and the host name I am using is freesound.iua.upf.edu

I'd use the Java applet but it won't load up (I'm using Mozilla Firefox, latest version).

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers

Simon

hello simondsouza!

yes, you found the right reply.

I would like to ask you to add all your sax sample samples to a 'pack' though.
You can still do so in the "view sample" interface.

Hi Bram,

Are you the same Bram who coded Hammerhead and Tuareg *&Tuareg 2)?

If so, my hats off to you, I loved those programs. I know a number of people (including myself, on occasion) who still use Hammerhead as the first program they teach newbies to music technology.

I have put all the samples into a sample pack - I assume that people can still download individual samples?

will up load more when I have them.

cheers

Simon

Hi again

Well Bram, lovely stuff over at smartelectronix too, and this is a great idea. I've had these sax samples hanging around for some time and was going to try and sell them as a sample CD, but I think the time has passed for making any money out of it!!!

So I'll gradually upload them here - there's a lot of them, actually, around 100mb.

Is this ok?

I have put the Dminor samples in one pack and have just uploaded another pack at 90bpm, but in D major this time.

Will upload others as I get time.

Any and all feedback very wlelcome

eh? smile

1. upload via FTP
2. go to Describe uploaded files
3. select all the samples you want to be packed together
4. select an old pack, or type in the name of a new one (on the same page, i.e. this one : "Describe uploaded files")
5. hit 'next step describe'
6. describe all your samples (read http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36 first)

that's it.
