it would be great if someone took the time to do this and pluggoize the max/msp preset. That way we'd all have free access to an otherwise 250$ program like the SampleRobot.

I did something like this awhile back, I multisampled the raw waveforms of my SCI Pro One at C and F in every octave, with fairly long loops paying attention to the periodicity of the waveform character. The result when used in a sampler with decent a decent synth engine was pretty impressive. I'll see if I can dig up the samples for sharing here.
