I use Google Ads on my website and they are highly configurable, they don't have to be too obtrusive and they display ads which are relevant to the content of the site, so they could actually be adding something positive other than the financial reward.

I find google ads highly erotic now can we moderate the sounds I uploaded someone? I like to stream them while I self gratify.

those better not better not be jehovica's samples your streaming! I don't know about you but multisamples are a major turn-off for me.

lol I could actually see 40 microtonal sounds to be useful for someone who wants to "play" their own Microtonal instrument. It can otherwise be a pain for someone to make the microtonal samples from scratch.

I must admit I am guilty of uploading multi samples but usually stick to 12 tone scales, microtuning can be accomplished with the sequencer or keyboard and imagine sitting there trying to scale the notes across the keyboard or whatever so 99% of people and everyone in the western hemisphere can say "wtf?".

Sorry about the delay in moderation, I logged in today to see almost 300 samples sitting in the queue. Just got through all 128 of yours.

Too bad doing sample moderation also means chaining myself to my computer for hours to catch up on the forums...

lol, wtf is probably going to be most people's reactions if they just put all the samples in not realizing that they're making an instrument that doesn't exactly follow the 12 tone system. I know it can be done with keyboard/sampler but it does make it convenient for someone who doesn't want to sit there and modify several standard tones to fit in a microtonal way. But I guess most of the time people aren't looking for microtonal sounds.

Would it be possible to set up an Amazon.com associate account for this site? That would allow ads controlled by the site, for products related to the site. I recently bought some audio-related gear through Amazon.com, and used the referral link for a client (a health-related non-profit organization, so another good cause). But the $10+ they earned, at no extra cost to me, could have gone to this site instead.

For Google ads, I voted yes -- I understand quite well the ongoing cost of running a site (and the scarcity of donations from site users), so I'm very tolerant of various funding approaches, whether that means ads, memberships, etc. or a mix of things.

I'm going to lock this thread:
