I can't get RHumphreys train to make any sound after I download it. I can only listen to it online. Is there a way around this that I don't have to buy software? Thanks.

The file as a 24 bit file. It's possible that your player can't play back a file of that bit depth. I'm sure there is freeware out there that will let you convert it to a 16 bit file, but I don't have any reccomendations off hand. Can anyone else suggest one?

Thanks for the link. I also discovered that these will play in Adobe Premier, which I have.
Is the quality just too good for things like realplayer or quiktime etc?

ITs always best to start with the higest quality file you can gete your hands on (doubly so in sound design because you do a lot of processing).
Then when you create ram or qt mov it gets compressed to whatever format you wish.
