Would it be useful to post other places stuff to index here?(that seem to permit doing so) One of the reasons I thought of this idea is the absolutely free orchestral instrtument samples hosted at

http://theremin.music.uiowa.edu/MIS.html

and also the G-town sampling project at

http://www.sampletorrents.com/details.php?id=414ff2ea10e0acfef93c4ee731c4e1c62900440a

These are some excellent samples and the University of Iowa is freely posted while G-town uses the Sampling Plus 1.0 license.

Perhaps we could ask first or perhaps a moderated account that promotes and credits the author's works would be good? It would make FreeSound a more complete database but these files are available else where so I don't know. What od others think?

I think that if they are sampling+ we can legally re-post them here as long as we attribute the author... but there may be a site policy about that too, best to ask bram.
