Nice open challenge with any free software, good one.
I've been meaning to give ufxloops another spin for a while now.
I think I might even try to turn some didgeridoo samples (my signature sound) into a working instrument in the app.
Hope to hear some other cool ideas about free software that's out there from other people too.

@koopa Strange, I've never heard of that program. I think you're in the wrong thread. Or maybe you misread the first post. (Discussion and rants relating to DARE 34)

One of my samples did not survive the migration to uFXloops. Well thats life. Now I have some samples in uFXloops. One of the samples was to long. 16 bars (110bpm). Hmmm that is about 34sec... But you can import one channel at a time - as mono. Cool! I like the new functions and menus so far.

May I suggest a new feature/function in uFXloops. I want to be able to play sample with a length that doesent fit the tempo and doesent care about the other samples at all. It just plays. Understand?

This spring I have to paint my house => less music making... I will appreciate the long running time of the dares

Requests for UFXLoops features or bug reports are best addressed by posting at the UFXLoops forums or by email to UFXLoops support - Check the previous UFXLoops dare, the links are on that thread.

If you make these posts visible in the UFXLoops forum, they are visible to all UFX users.

I am pretty sure the function you ask for already exists. UFXLoops can play "one shot samples".
Here, again, you may benefit from other more experienced UFX Loops users addressing your question

I also read this here, from time to time. I also think it should work with an unlooped slot in your case. And if you want it to start immediately, regardless of the bar, you can put the slot bars to 1/16th. So it will play on the next sixteenth whenever you press. But take care, you could also trigger playing several times in or short period this way

About my submission for Dare-34. I have almost forgotten how I did it….
I think I have some notes on my computer at home, but that computer has (almost) crashed. But I know I used some Yamaha QY-10 sounds, some freesound samples and my signature sound. I used uFXloops, recorded, and since mars 18 I have been waiting for “someone” to master it. Nothing happens.
Now I will, hmmmm, master it myself and upload it!

agh sorry I'm a jerk but believe me I just wasn't satisfied with what I had done yet. I got a new laptop and I swear windows 8 sounds better? (any technical reason this could happen?)
