More than 2 Gb of sounds (and rules). Nope. I will not down load that.. I dl 5 of the “recommend 30 sound packs”. I think Thalamus will be fine without a submission from me. But I hope that it’s OK to make a track for Dare-32?
So, I don’t know the exact rules…

OK, OK... calm down man...

You simply need to use some of the sounds selected by Thalamus.
You can download the whole lot (if you want to, and if your hard-drive and internet connection can take it...) - but you don't have to. Thalamus has listed the sounds, so you can download the ones you want and not the rest. Just as you suggested.

The rules of how to submit for the Thalamus collab are simple enough.
http://www.thalamuslab.com/xsl-open-call-guidelines/

Please read the full rules, but basically you are to use some sounds from their compilation - which is a selection of what they felt were the best sounds from Freesound.

The two important rules are:

#3 - How to submit:
Send your audio files to contact@thalamuslab.com via dropbox, wetransfer, soundcloud, etc. You may submit multiple tracks.

Do not forget:

Title
Format: Stereo 24 bits WAV file.
Description (optional)
Your info
Your links

#5 - realizre that, if your work gets picked for presentation it will be released with credit to you and under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0. (by submitting you are agreeing to your work being released under this license)
Works will be presented at New York (Harvestworks), Barcelona (Niu), Ghent (Netlabelism) and Berlin (Thalamus Lab). - So I think it is a pretty good opportunity for anyone interested in getting their work out there.

It is not everyday that we see a request like this at Freesound, so I encourage people to participate.
If you can squeeze in there your signature sound as well, you can make your piece also an entry to the Dare-32 smile which is what I have proposed.

I want to believe.

OK I dl this huge zip-file! I need the rules
Dl speed around 180-250kB/s! :-/
I have a 50 Mbit/s connection. Maybe its a popular server right now...
Remember when you used a 14,4 modem? I do now...
Dl time is longer than mm (making music) time.
I have the right to grizzle smile

The Thalamus rules are on the link on my previous post.
If you want to submit to dare 32, you need to comply with these AND add your signature sound.
If you still have questions send me a PM.

If it takes that long to dl, you might be better of downloading each individual pack from Freesound. Especially if you are only interested in some of the packs...

I want to believe.

I thought it should be more rules…§§§ Well, the dl took 2-3h. Busy server? But it did not take long to scroll through the samples. Now I have selected 10. Gave them a quick edit in Audacity, tuning etc. Now I have to load them into my SP-404. I will use SP-404, Kaoss Pad 3 and maybe a drum machine. I guess nobody cares, but here are the sounds of my choice. Will be interesting hear the outcome.
- AfroDJMac_Kitty Toy
- AfroDJMac_Plastic lid
- AfroDJMac_Timer Switch
- Alpha Cephei Vinyl Crackle 5
- Array Acces_Modification
- Davic Nod_Resonance
- David Flood_Music for 6 Boom Boxes
- Gabriela Parra_clashing ceramic lids high 2-4
- HII Regions_Gomix 1
- Robert Vodanović_Copor morning on the balcony
And my
- signature sound!

I also fell in love with a signature sound. The Nord Lead is a hell of a synth, and a freesound user made a fantastic loop.
And another guy, which I know like my brother, called renegade, made a new project, as a tribute to user KatHakuku:
If you have bad mood, listen to this song and you're happy again. If you have good mood, you will start smiling. I promise smile And yes, uFXloops can do Rock now smile
Greetings to all of you.

@ gis_sweden
well done on your track, man!
You have a Kaoss Pad 3? - checked it out online. Looks nice.
I have one of the older ones, KP 1.
To be honest, don't use it that much. Although it is quite nice. - I need 48h days!

I want to believe.
