I was wondering if we could a beat guessing contest. Everyone can get involved, I would like people to make beats from certain films/music. Like the beat for Pirates of the Caribbean for example. I don't want them to be close to the actual music/sounds and I don't want it to be the entire piece just segments. Like u could tap a table a have the toon of Time of Dying and then I want the Freesound community to guess what is the toon from. You can use anything to make the toon just as long as it doesn't sound to close to the actual piece and not the entire piece. I hope that your toons are not to easy to make it a challenge we can try to master. Questions acan be here the actual toons will be here: http://www.freesound.org/forum/dare-the-community/34412/?page=1#post70965

I'm serious, try to master this dare, u guys are kind of making the dares, and others are guessing what is the toon form or what song is it from.

@18hiltc
Generally I encourage people to run dares. Please take this as constructive feedback.
If you post a dare you need to be very clear on what you want from users.

For example. How to enter?
I am assuming you want small portions of a music or beat to be recreated / immitated and uploaded to Freesound. (Your post does not say. This must be clear.)
Then I am assuming the user makes his submission to the dare with a post in the dare thread with a link to the sound.

Who tries to guess? How do they make the guesses?
I imagine anyone who wants to participate may try to guess what each beat is. I suggest the best way to do that is by making a comment on the sound itself, rather than making posts on the thread.
Either way, you need to clarify how this would work.

Deadline. Is there a deadline? for submitting sounds? For trying to guess?
This can, of course, run forever (in theory, at least). But how will you know if you have guessed right?
Please clarify.

Thanks

I want to believe.

Ok I understand your dilemma, I guess I do need to be more specific. Ok I wanted the entries uploaded to the entries form and I want them uploaded to Freesound. And guess I will make another form that will contain the guesses and I will explain more about the guesses in the form. And I haven't really decided a due date. I guess the due date will be January 1st, I may change it if I get a lot of entries.

Ok I also want all of you guys to call your entries Guess Entries and for people that post more than one just put a number 1, 2, etc.. for as many sounds you upload.
