Dear community of FREESOUND.

I am in desperate need of your help, as I am going crazy over this melody!
It's been in my head for 5 days now, and I can't seem to track it down.

I have the tune in my head, and now recorded it. I tried humming it, whistle, sing, on various websites to see if others knew it. I HAVE TO find it, hear it and move on.

I beg you.. take 15 seconds, listen to it, and help me find it. What is this song? What is the name of it? where does it come from??

I THINK it might have been in movies, perhaps a war game, or something like an old record.

I THINK it's classical.. I'm hearing violins in my head..

ANY.. ideas on this? What could it be ?

Please.. I need expert help ( not just a psychiatrist! haha..)

I hope you friendly people can help me, because I am going crazy here..

*I tried uploading it to freesound, but its awaiting moderation.

sincerly. Andy

A community centered around music might be more helpful (Jamendo?).

There are tools that can help you, if nobody else can:

Thank you for your reply.

I have postes this elsewhere aswell, but no replies as of yet.
I've tried 12 different sites and tools, like "Hum your melody" - "Sing" - "flash piano" - "whistle a song", and many others. Through most of my searching, the results came up with beatles. And I KNOW it ain't a beatles song... so..

I'm quite sure it could have been part of game like:

Hearts of Iron. (old war game, strategy) - It has tons of classical tunes.

Or perhaps.

Civilization 5. (Strategy game aswell)

I checked their soundtrack list, and listened to all the tunes.. but couldn't find it.

I am really lost here.. I SO hope I find it.

Have you listened to the recording? It dosen't ring ANY bell at all ?

SOMEONE must have heard it somewhere..I am sure it's been in some movies too.

Is it this?

If so, more details here:

It's a very commonly used piece.

Edit: ...and I'm guessing you may have heard it in Supreme Ruler: Cold War?

Great! Your hummed version was pretty good so it made it quite easy to guess!

If you like that piece, have a listen to Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky if you don't already know it. Some of the movements (especially the last two) are kind of similar - and I think some it was used on some versions of Civilization so it's probably also in your brain somewhere!
