Because in addition to instruments you are allowed to record other sounds (or use recordings already available at Freesound) - provided these are sounds that could realistically have existed and be recorded in the 60s.
So... anything that is not an instrument will not count as an instrument - regardless of how you mix it - And speaking of mixing: remember only high and low shelf filters available per channel on your mixer. No fancy EQing.

That sounds great. I've completely run out of time the past few weeks. I hope to get an entry ready, if i'm lucky.
