Hello,

I have successfully uploaded an .mp3 file using both FTP (FileZilla) & the browser applet but when I click on "Files you added..." the response is

Additions to freesound...

No files...

I can see the file is there using both FileZilla or the browser applet but so far I cannot get to hear/download/view my file on the freesoundproject website.

Please help...

Kieran

Did you describe the files you uploaded? Press the ' describe uploaded files' in the menu on the left. After that, the sounds should appear. Please note that all sounds are checked by moderators before being cleared for the website.

Thanks for the info... I tried to "describe uploaded files" but got this:

waves-on-beach-waters-edge.mp3 (this file might be broken, please upload it again...)

I then have no way to select it and if I then just agree to the terms and click next 'describe' I get the next page error below:

Friendly error message...

This is a friendly error message:

You didn't select any file!

Any other tips?

Thanks

It means that something went wrong when uploading the file and the one received at our server is corrupt. The solution is to log in using the ftp applet, delete the old file you will see at the right side and then upload your file again. Then decribe your file and it is submitted to the review process.

Thanks.

Thanks LG... I did delete the old and then re-uploaded the mp3 using FileZilla ftp and it worked this time.
I am a new member with teething problems smile I am glad to be able to contribute to the freesoundproject.
It's a great service...

For now I will have to wait now till my new mp3 sound clip is moderated.

How long does a moderation take?

Thanks

Kieran

.....Allow a couple of days for moderation (weekends are slow!),you can see straight away that your sounds have been uploaded under Sounds added (to the left in your forum posts).

Well, we as mods have to do this besides our professional jobs and social life so sometimes it can take a while. However, these sounds are cleared and will appear within 10 minutes.

LG,

My sound files are now live... great and thanks to all.

Is it possible to have this file deleted: http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=72519
It's a duplicate.

Also can the default name "Sequence 02.mp3" of this file http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=72532
be changed to "Waves Lapping" if not thats ok.

I have learned the procedure of uploading now so in future hopefully there wont be any confusion.

Deleted.

Unfortunately not. The only workaround is to let us delete this one and then upload the same sound with a new name.

Thanks for your contribution.

LG,

Again thanks for your help. I think for now I will leave the file as is.
Looking forward to uploading more sound files soon.

Same here. I described my files and it passed the moderation stage. The file doesn't show up in the "Files you added" when I looked back for the next 24 hours.
