I keep getting this error:

upright_piano_arpeggios10022011.wav :: file /freesound/uploads/2012869/upright_piano_arpeggios10022011.wav already in database!

I've gone and deleted it from my database on freesound but the error still happens. Any suggestions?

Hi RiceNooddle

I don't think it's possible for users to delete files in the Freesound database even if your FTP client seems to offer the option.. If you uploaded it and it doesn't appear in your list of uploaded sounds then it's probably because it's still awaiting moderation or you didn't go through the "Describe uploaded files" process in the menu on the right. If you want a sound removed from the database you have to ask a Moderator to do it for you. If you don't want to wait for a moderator to help, to upload the same sound but with a different, say improved edit, it's easiest to upload it with a slightly different name like "upright_piano_arpeggios10022011a.wav" for instance.

I don't know how conventional this idea is, but if "upright_piano_arpeggios10022011.wav" is still awaiting moderation and you can find it in your "Describe uploaded files" page you could change/add the description "Moderator, please delete this file - posted in error", I'm sure it would get attention and they would oblige.

I've seen reports about this error before, but apparently, the sounds do get through ok.

I uploaded some new files then -> describe them -> get an error "file doesen't exist"

I try to upload them again (upload works) -> describe them again -> file xx already in Database

I don't know if they are in moderation state or just "ghosts" within the Database.

Thx
