The password you used when you first joined/registered. If you can't remember it use this:

I'm already logged in, it's maybe useless to get my password if I already know it ^^

The applet doesn't work ^^'

Logging in to freesound ftp is different to logging in to the freesound website.

You need to log into ftp (with the same password) regardless of if you're logged into the website or not, that is why there is a box for your password on the ftp applets or any other ftp program. This is normal practice for nearly all web applications.

The applet does work for 99.9 percent of users.

If it won't work for you after logging in to the ftp site then there is something wrong with your computer set-up rather than with freesound or the applet. Old or broken version of java perhaps, or something in your firewall set-up or User Access Control if you're using Microsoft Windows. - just some possibilities.

Anyhow, good luck making it work.

File uploading applet

This great applet has been kindly provided by JScape, Leader in Java and .NET Internet Software Components...

Make sure you hit 'yes' or 'allow' when the security warning pops up. You need to do this because the applet needs the permission to touch your local files...

After uploading, remember to describe your files...

This is all there is if im logged in and click FTP Applet

I dont get it .
If I log in on this page im back at home page

So again ....how to upload

What browser are you using?

Using Firefox on a linux box, my ftp applet page (http://www.freesound.org/filesUploadApplet.php) looks like this:

http://s3.postimage.org/1n8zk9o78/ftp_applet_page.jpg

If you don't see the page like that, then perhaps your java environment is not the right version, as Puniho wrote.
But when all that is said, and if java works, just hit the "connect" button and you'll get a little sign-in window. Enter your username and pw, and you're good to go.

Using a ftp client is also possible, but for some security reason, that i think Bram pointed out a long time ago, it'll disconnect after 15 minutes (at least it have done that on my pc).

Hope it helps grin

On Mac, you can also use an app called Cyberduck as separate ftp client. It's what I use and never had any problems with.
