Not a fan of the new UI. IMO, it looks like Freesound is turning into another YouTube. Reminds me of the switch to Scratch 3.0. Can we just have a toggle to go back to the old UI like Reddit does despite it being retired? It looks too modern and cooperate. The old UI looks more home sweet home and user-friendly. However, I do praise the fact that it is in dark mode, but I don't like how wide it is.

Hi vibritherabjit123,

Thanks for your feedack, glad to hear you are enjoying the dark mode.

After the official release of the new UI, we won't be able to keep the old UI. It's essential to note that the new UI brings along various changes in the backend and frontend for improving Freesound, including new functionalities which you can see here. That makes it increasingly challenging to maintain the old design, especially with our very small team, but we hope you appreciate the new features.

That being said, if you have any specific ideas on how to make it feel more friendly, please share them with us. We will continue being open into new adjustments in the new UI.

I mean it can have a few classic touches. Like maybe keeping the tags look the same or having the same layout just a little more modern. But I can see why this change was made. It's an old thing. Also wide-screen websites are a normal thing. So you are better off maybe asking someone to program an extension to make bringing back the old ui possible.
