Birds that have just been fed with grain at Abberton Reservoir, Essex, UK. The birds are on the grass bank adjacent to the water. In addition to feeding, some squabble with others for access to the food and peck at the surroundings, including the fence that separates the grass and reservoir from the footpath. Species include:
Egyptian geese (very vocal)
Greylag geese (quite vocal)
Canada geese (fairly quiet)
Mute swans (can be heard calling occasionally, though other sounds are from their activity)
Mallards (can be heard, including flying at the start of the recording)
Black-headed gulls
Recorded with 500mm parabolic with Pluggy XLR EM272 microphone attached to a Zoom F6.
