This is a clip taken from the third in a series of five installations entitled 'Convers[ation]'. The clip was recorded at the 'Home from Home' exhibition at the Leeds International Artists Book Fair in 2011.
This piece asked three former asylum seekers or those seeking refugee status who were residing in Bradford, 'What Home Means To Them'. As in 'Convers[ation] II', the audio was transferred onto cassette tapes, but this time audience participation was encouraged by instructing people to play with the cassettes to create their own dialogue between participants by stop/starting the tapes.
The piece also exhibited at the Platforma Festival in London later that year.
