Thud_3 is short in length -- 50 milliseconds. This is the dry, pure thud, with no reverb. It has a bit more high frequency content (not much, though) compared to the lower-numbered Thud's. Don't trust the compressed flash-based sound you get to sample -- the actual wav file (when downloaded) should not sound clicky the way the preview does.

A thud is an impulsive but very short low frequency sweep downward, so short that you cannot discern the sweep itself. I have several thuds in this pack, each sounding rather different and having a different duration and other characteristics. They come in a mono dry variation (very short), and in a variation with stereo reverb added. All are 48KHz 32bit floating point format. Each is completely synthetic for purity, created in Cool Edit Pro. These can be useful for sound sweetening in film, etc., or as the basis for a new kick-drum sample (no beater-noise).
