Similar in usefulness to HerbertBoland's popular CinematicBoomNorm.wav sample, this is a totally synthetic sound of a distant but muffled explosion. Lots of lows, perhaps inaudible on small speakers. Not quite so "ringy" or gong-like as the original Cinematic Boom, and perhaps better because of that fact. This one has some frequency shaping, especially at the very beginning (first 80 ms) to give a subtle feeling of impact, and has been reverberated for a very smooth decay. #4 is provided in both 44.1KHz 16bit as well as 48KHz 32bit, for the convenience of using whichever format you're already working in. This is the 44.1/16 version. Created within Cool Edit Pro.

thanks guys; @MrFireFist: it's a ubiquitous type of effect that can be found in many variations and renditions, so much so that it is unlikely this specific sound is being used (I tried checking some Nuke's Top5 and heard lots of ultra-low effects but nothing that sounded quite like this specific one).
